Systems Engineer


Position Summary:

  • The role of a Systems Engineer is to provide a wide variety of technical services to our clients. These services include but are not limited to onsite systems administration, performing proactive and reactive technical support and the design and implementation of our solutions. All Systems Engineers are expected to provide exceptional customer service and perform all duties with the company’s core beliefs and objectives in mind at all times.

Required certificates and experience:

  • Completion of MCITP or MCSE
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar position

Detailed position description:

  • Assist with new network designs and the creation of Bill of Material (BOM) for upcoming projects
  • Assist with the creation of scope of work (SOW) documents that can be distributed to clients
  • Perform new server installation and server upgrade projects
  • Perform new network deployment projects for small to medium sites
  • Create the appropriate build documentation at the completion of each project and ensure existing documents are updated as required (i.e. network document, network diagram, password database ETC)
  • Perform more complex networking tasks such as (Firewall, router installs, managed switch deployments and complex Wi-Fi deployments)
  • Perform basic Telephony implementations
  • Perform client auditing projects
  • Capable of following our client on-boarding procedures and successfully on-boarding new clients
  • Capable of troubleshooting major client issues such as but not limited system downs, performance issues upgrade failures with minimal interaction form senior technical staff or management
  • Be the first point of contact for technical escalations from the helpdesk for their primary or secondary sites
  • Be an escalation point for level 1 consultants as required from all sites to assist in the prompt resolution of client issues
  • Engineers of this level should set a very high standard of site maintenance and should be an example for all other techs to follow.
  • Have a heavy input into internal systems and procedures with emphasis on implementation of new systems, procedures and processes
  • Exceptional levels of customer service in terms of documentation, verbal and written client communications and a high level of client satisfaction
