Case study – Solving IT growing pains for a travel company
The Travel Authority (TTA) are an established and growing corporate Travel Agency with offices in Sydney, Perth, Central Coast and Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
In 2012 TTA had outgrown their existing IT infrastructure. Their IT platforms were overloaded, causing IT issues, lost productivity and their data was at risk.
TTA’s IT provider advised the only way to move forward was to invest in a costly server upgrade, which prompted TTA to seek a second option. TTA contacted Centrix and requested a consultation to discuss alternate options for their future IT growth.
Given the urgency to fix TTA’s IT, Centrix responded by immediately completing a network audit of TTA’s network, and reported back with a list of recommendations. It was determined that TTA did not have an adequate backup and recovery solution leaving the business completely vulnerable.
Along with implementing a new and suitable backup solution, Centrix also migrated TTA’s email platform to Microsoft Office 365. This reduced the need for a dedicated in-house mail server and provided TTA with a platform that was cost effective and easily scalable, which suited their multiple locations. Centrix also consolidated two in-house servers into one, reducing maintenance load and ongoing costs.
Centrix now provide TTA with help desk support, ongoing system administration and full management of their IT infrastructure. Centrix have a wide range of skills and experience with the line of business applications for the Travel Industry, which is a huge benefit to TTA.
TTA now have more efficient and stable IT infrastructure and have maximised their existing investments, eliminating the requirement for an unnecessary total infrastructure refresh. TTA have also benefited by consolidating hardware, and gained business efficiencies by migrating to software that better suited their business structure.
